1. Chest Pain or Discomfort
A feeling of pressure, squeezing, fullness, or pain in the center or left side of the chest. It may last for more than a few minutes or go away and come back.
2. Shortness of Breath
Often accompanies chest discomfort, but can occur without it. It may feel like you can’t catch your breath or have trouble breathing deeply.
3. Pain in Other Areas
Discomfort may radiate to the shoulders, neck, back, arms, or jaw. Pain might also be felt in the upper stomach.
4. Nausea or Vomiting
Feeling nauseous or actually vomiting can be a sign, especially when combined with chest discomfort.
5. Sweating
Breaking out in a cold sweat, often without physical exertion, can be a warning sign of a heart attack.
6. Lightheadedness or Dizziness
Feeling faint, dizzy, or lightheaded can be associated with a heart attack, sometimes accompanied by shortness of breath or nausea.
7. Unusual Fatigue
Unexplained, extreme tiredness that lasts for days or weeks, which might occur suddenly or gradually.
8. Indigestion or Heartburn
Some people might experience symptoms similar to indigestion or heartburn, particularly women.
9. Rapid or Irregular Heartbeat
A sensation of the heart racing or beating irregularly can be a symptom of a heart attack.
10. Feeling of Impending Doom
A strong sense of fear or anxiety, sometimes described as a feeling of impending doom, can occur during a heart attack.
