He is a urologist, a male infertility specialist, and a general and laparoscopic surgeon. He has rich experience in patient care management, clinical operations and hospital management. It was his vision to set up a large-scale hospital in the small town of Thiruthani, despite the difficult business case presented to him about the project. He knew the townspeople had a case for a big hospital. It is what mattered to him. Today, due to his persistence, Thiruthani has its only NABH accredited hospital.

She is a reputed gynaecologist and an infertility treatment expert. She is a rare professional: very dynamic, very progressive and reformist in her thoughts and outlook. The touches of modernity seen in the conduct of hospital are her contribution, and a reflection of her personality. Dr. Anupama is Dr. Sree Kiran’s wife, and the co-founder of the hospital.
About Peacock Hospital
We are the only big hospital in a small town, catering to not only to the resident people but also to the people from the surrounding villages and other nearby towns such as Tiruvallur, Arakkonam, Sholingur and Nagari. The townspeople know us for the quality of our services, for our sensitives, and for our ethical high standards.
Before the hospital came up in 2017, its people had to travel to Chennai and other big cities for treatment. Now, however, the best of the benefits of city hospitals are available in the neighbourhood.
Hospital view
It is a 100-bedded hospital on a 50,000 sq.ft campus. It has a built up area of 40,000 sq.ft that houses high-end diagnostic and treatment facilities, including hitech labs, MRI, CT scan and dialysis stations, CSSDs, high-tech OTs, ICUs and special labour rooms.
The building also has an emergency hall; consulting rooms; waiting areas for patients and their caretakers; and patient wards, both general and private.
The entire building is connected through ramps and bed lifts to aid fast and smooth patient transfers. Also on the campus, there is a car park that can accommodate up to 30 cars and 150 two wheelers. Besides, the hospital has its own water and power management plants, fire fighting unit, and facelities for effluent and waste management.
Services
The hospital has a resident team of 15 doctors, supported by nurses, para-medics and technicians. They are attached to various departments headed by specialist doctors. Between them, they handle all minor and major diseases and disorders. In all, the hospital runs 8 major departments besides the minor ones.

Before the hospital came up, we had a small medical centre in Thiruthani that our family had left for us to run. However, we were hamstrung both by the lack of the facilities and by the lack of adequate staff at the centre.
It is when the idea of a bigger hospital took shape.
Thiruthani is a small, semi-urban township of 65,000 people. They are a people of mixed background: poor, just middling, and a few rich. We were forewarned, it would be bad economics to set up a big, modern hospital here. However, we had a different perspective.
Thiruthani, had no big hospital. The residents used to travel to Chennai to find treatment. The problem was the lack of medical facilities in the town, especially for such kinds of patients who needed ICU care, dialysis, MRI, CT scan, ECHO, TMT or complicated and time-critical surgery.
We saw Peacock Hospital as an answer to the problem.
The opening: The Peacock Hospital was opened in 2017 to the people of Thiruthani. Today, it has every facility and modern equipment a big hospital in Delhi or Mumbai commands. Some of the best doctors in Tamil Nadu work here. Among them, they treat all diseases and disorders, minor or major.
On the strength of its works, the Peacock Hospital has now NABH accreditation, a government recognition for the service quality and administrative standards maintained by the hospital. The process to seek a full accreditation is on currently.
